For those of you not as familiar with comic shops as some of us, that's the PREVIEWS comic book catalog that comic shops use to pre-order comics and graphic novels every month... and as you can see, BUTTS IN SEATS: THE TONY SCHIAVONE STORY is now available for comic shops to pre-order this month from Source Point Press with an expected shelf-date of November 24th!
This obviously means that SourcePoint Press should be getting the books at their warehouse around this time, too, which means they'll then be able to start packing and shipping all your packages! Huzzah!
Keep in mind, though, THESE ARE ALL ESTIMATED DATES. What it does do, though, is give you all an idea of the type of timeline we're all on in regards to getting the books! They're at the printer now, and we're getting close, friends! Huzzah! Again!
This also means that anyone you know who missed the Kickstarter campaign can now pre-order the softcover TPB of the book from their local comic shop in the next few weeks (again, using Order Code SEP211772 if they ask for it)... so if you know someone who might be interested, let them know!
That's right, friends... Source Point Press is the official sponsor of all the badges at New York Comic Con this year, and the PremiumExhibitor badge -- the most "all elite" of the badges, if you will -- has been awarded to none other than BUTTS IN SEATS: THE TONY SCHIAVONE STORY with that gorgeous cover art by Marianna Pescosta!
Source Point Press will be set-up on the main floor of New York Comic Con all four days (October 7-10), and I'll be stationed at my table in Artist Alley all weekend... but what does this mean for Tony? Watch this space... and perhaps start looking into picking-up a ticket for Sunday, at least, using the official New York Comic Con Lyte TicketExchange, friends...
Big news is on the horizon! We'll talk soon!

Convention Season is upon us! See you this weekend?
Hey all!
As you all know, BUTTS IN SEATS: THE TONY SCHIAVONE STORY is currently at the printer, which means we should have the books in hand -- and ready to start shipping -- sooner than later at this point!
In the meantime, convention season is now upon us all, starting with several members of Team BUTTS IN SEATS appearing in Michigan this week!
This weekend Tony, Editor Drena Jo, and our very own Head of Talent Relations "Gimmick Attorney" Mike Dockins will be at ASTRONOMICON 4 in Ann Arbor, Michigan! Look at this incredible guest line-up:
Keep in mind that while I'll be at the convention all three days, Tony will be only be there Saturday and Sunday. Apparently there's some big wrestling event going on in Chicago Friday that's going to feature the "Best in the World" or something? Maybe?
If you can make it to Ann Arbor this weekend, though, we all most sincerely hope to see you there... and we'll then be in touch with more convention appearance news soon... including a really big one in October!
See you soon (we hope) and talk soon (for sure)!
Your friend in comics,
Dirk Manning

Hey wrestling fans! Thanks again for supporting Butts in Seats. We hope you'll be just as excited for the next major campaign from our sister company, Deep Water Games. Readers of Image Comics might be familiar with the Rat Queens, a pack of booze-guzzling, death-dealing battle maidens-for-hire, in the business of massacring monsters for money. From the Kickstarter page:
"When the darkly comedic sass-and-sorcery comic debuted in 2013, it put a “Bridesmaids” spin on the “Dungeons and Dragons” and campaigned its way into the hearts of many. Now, it's your turn to join the Queens on their ale-swigging misadventures in Rat Queens: To the Slaughter.
Rat Queens: To the Slaughter is a cooperative deck-building boss-fighter based on the award-winning Image Comics series created by Kurtis Wiebe. It plays 1 to 4 players in under an hour with learn-as-you-go mechanics and loads of content for endless replayability - and it’s live on Kickstarter NOW!"
This is a game that has been in development for quite some time now and we have loads of promotional material, story and player expansions, and other top-secret add-ons just waiting to be shown off. We’ve put a lot of time and effort into making sure this was a game accessible to newcomers and diehard fans alike. We’d be so grateful if you’d take a look. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/deepwatergames/rat-queens-to-the-slaughter?ref=bkgai7
Happy Independence Day... and Happy "Independents" Day!

Happy Independence Day!
On behalf of myself and all of us on team BUTTS IN SEATS, we wanted to take a moment to wish all of you celebrating it a very happy and joyous 4th of July, friends! However you're spending (or spent) your Sunday, we hope it was filled with family, friends, and/or joy.
Also... HAPPY INDEPENDENTS DAY!
No, that was not a typo!
For those of you not (yet) as steeped in comic culture, on July 4th comic creators who focus on creator-owned or independent work tend to celebrate "Independents Day" as a way to raise awareness of "independent" comics... so in honor of the day... here's some previously unseen lettered preview art from BUTTS IN SEATS!
As we get closer and closer to the release of this AMAZING book it's getting harder and harder to contain my excitement for it! And finally, speaking of exciting things...
Comic Conventions are Returning!
Tony Schiavone and I will be both attending our first comic con together next month as guests of Astronomicon4 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and there are several other comic conventions for both of us (both independent of each other and together) scheduled for the rest of 2021... and beyond!
Once a month I send a personal email newsletter in which I discuss upcoming convention appearances as well as other books I'm working on -- and given that I can drop hints and news there that I can't always drop here, I'll make sure that you all get the next one when it goes out next week. (Because, yes, there's some very exciting -- and time sensitive -- BUTTS IN SEATS teasers in there you'll want to be be aware of.) I hope you'll take a moment to give it a read, as along with some BUTTS IN SEATS teasers, I'll be able to give you updates about some of the other books I'm working on now... as well as some that I think many of you here will be especially interested in as they're announced in my newsletter in the coming months.
(Yes, I'm mainly known as a "horror comic" guy... but I obviously have A LOT of love for wrestling, too, and if you think we're not already not working towards the next wrestling comic... well... keep your eyes peeled in that newsletter for a hint... or four.)
